A little history on the C.N.C.P

The CNCP was founded on January, 20th 1948, under the name Club Nautique de Canet-Plage. Its head office was then in Perpignan. The club’s development is done while Canet-Plage was a holiday resort of Perpignan and its rise is to be put in parallel with the development of the tramway line which served Canet-Plage from Perpignan. The aim was not simply to sail but also to participate in the development of tourism on the Vermeilles coast and to manage the site made available by the administration of the estates to serve as a garage for pleasure boats. This breakdown would later become the port of Canet-en-Roussillon.

On August 26, 1968, during the extraordinary general assembly, the association changed its name while keeping the same acronym. The CNCP became Club Nautique Canet-Perpignan and the headquarters were transferred from Perpignan to Canet-Plage. The association is affiliated with the French Sailing Yachting Federation. The association’s aim is refocused on sailing and yacht racing.

The CNCP was co-organiser in June 2013 of the final of the league of the sailing championship for Languedoc-Roussillon. The competitions were held in Canet-en-Roussillon.
